Get the answers to your health challenges
Ready to take control of your digestive health?
Get a deeper understanding of your specific health concerns and see results faster
Your health is like a jigsaw puzzle—many different pieces must come together to create a picture of health.
Functional testing is one tool used to show us the picture we’re trying to make.
Testing helps us identify the underlying causes of your digestive challenges. Allowing us to create a plan that’s tailored to exactly what you need.
Functional testing helps you get clearer nutrition and health recommendations. Especially If you’re experiencing
Diarrhea or constipation
Acid reflux and heartburn
Bloating
Irritable bowel syndrome
Inflammatory bowel disease
SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth
Autoimmune disorders
Weight loss resistance
Brain fog
Anxiety, depression, or mood swings
Leaky gut
Gut infections
Chronic fatigue
Skin problems
Diabetes
Irregular periods
Hormone imbalances
Histamine intolerance
Identify Root Cause.
Functional nutrition testing helps pinpoint the specific imbalances contributing to conditions such as Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), GERD and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

Tailored Treatment Plans
Testing allows us to develop highly personalized treatment plans by identifying specific body dysfunctions. Custom protocols often include dietary recommendations, supplements, and other lifestyle/environment-related interventions aimed directly at correcting what we find during testing.
Monitor Gut Health
These tests provide a detailed view of the gut microbiome, which is especially beneficial for those with SIBO and IBS, as these conditions often involve an imbalance of gut bacteria. Understanding the microbiome composition allows us to adjust diets (e.g., low FODMAP, gluten-free) and other treatment recommendations to restore balance and reduce symptoms.
Preventative Insights
Functional nutrition tests can detect potential issues before they become severe, allowing for preventive measures to be taken. Early intervention can prevent the progression of gut problems and alleviate the severity of symptoms.
Comprehensive Overview
Testing often covers areas that conventional medical tests might overlook, such as internal stress levels, intestinal permeability (aka leaky gut), our body’s inflammatory response to certain foods, digestive enzyme production, and immune health!
Functional tests available
-
The research clearly shows that gut health isn't just about avoiding stomach issues—it plays a huge role in overall well-being.
The bacteria, yeasts, fungi, and more (our gut microbiome) influence our diet, immune system, metabolism, mood, and hormones.
The GI Map Test (GI Microbial Assay Plus) [Links to https://www.diagnosticsolutionslab.com/tests/gi-map] is a stool test that assesses your gut microbiome for bacterial, parasitic, and viral pathogens, microbial balance, and other intestinal health markers, such as low immune function, poor pancreatic elastase output, or intestinal permeability.
We can precisely identify the likely underlying cause of digestive symptoms using the GI Map results. This enables us to adopt a targeted approach to rebalancing the gut and nurturing a thriving, diverse gut microbiome for optimal health.
-
The Mediator Release Test is a simple, patented blood test that identifies our body’s reactions to 140 foods and 30 food chemicals by measuring the number of mediators released and the subsequent changes in white blood cells.
By identifying food sensitivities, I can accurately determine which specific foods trigger an immune response, eliminating the need for extensive elimination diets.
This targeted approach allows for more efficient and personalized dietary interventions.
-
Intracellular Micronutrient testing is a specialized form of nutritional testing that assesses the levels of essential vitamins, minerals, and other micronutrients within the body's cells. It provides a more accurate reflection of the nutrient status within the cells where they are used.
Micronutrient testing allows us to identify deficiencies and optimize nutrient levels through a combination of diet and targeted supplementation.
-
Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) provides real-time data on glucose levels, allowing us to monitor your blood sugar trends throughout the day.
Using this data, we can make more strategic decisions regarding diet, exercise, and lifestyle recommendations, helping you achieve sustainable weight loss and stable energy levels.
-
Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) measures the mineral content of hair - including nutritional deficiencies and environmental toxins. HTMA test results can provide insight into your current symptoms or concerns.
HTMA allows us to examine patterns over a longer period of time and can provide dramatic insight into issues such as PMS, chronic fatigue, digestion, endocrine function, and more.
Results can give us insight into our digestion, blood sugar balance, heavy metal load, thyroid function, inflammation, mineral status, stress responses, etc.

What if I don’t want to have any testing done?
While recommended, testing is not required to work together! We can still make significant progress without testing.
Will I need to get the tests repeated?
Repeat testing is optional and often based on your symptoms and changes we see as your nutrition treatment progresses. We will assess progress and retest as needed.
How do I get the test kit?
Test kits will be mailed directly to your home address once onboarding is completed.
Will my health insurance cover the test costs?
Unfortunately, most insurance plans do not cover functional testing. However, HSA/FSA payments are accepted, and testing can be included in a payment plan.
How are samples taken?
Sample collection depends on the test. MRT and Intracellular Micronutrient testing requires a blood draw at your local lab. HTMA, CGM and GI Map testing can be completed in the comfort of your own home. You will be provided with specific collection instructions during the onboarding process.
